Outcasts United: Meet the Author February 17

Warren St. John, author of Outcasts United, will be in San Diego for the Kick-Off event of One Book One San Diego.  Outcasts United is the story of a refugee boys soccer team, the remarkable woman who coaches them, and the town where they live. It's a story about the challenges posed by our quickly changing world, and one that reminds us of what is possible in this country when we put our values in action.   Many of the students featured in the book were resettled by the IRC in Atlanta.

The IRC in San Diego also has a refugee soccer team through the Students Plus After School Program.

Join KPBS and the San Diego Public Library for an evening with Warren St. John on

At this event, there will be a lecture, Q&A period, and a book signing.  There will also be soccer skills demonstrations from the San Diego Sockers and the San Diego International Rescue Committee Refugee Soccer Team.
