Proud New American - Joseph Jok

IRC Case Manager Joseph Jok spoke to 1,200 new Americans at a recent naturalization ceremony in honor of World Refugee Day.  He offered these words of encouragement:

"What I have experienced so far in the United States is that there is no limit to what you can achieve here.   With hard work and dedication, abiding by the rule of law, any of your dreams can come true whether that involves obtaining a quality education, becoming successful, or simply raising a happy and healthy family.   Congratulations again, and good luck on all your endeavors in this land of opportunity and freedom."

After speaking at the naturalization ceremony, Joseph was asked to write an op-ed for the San Diego Union Tribune. The op-ed was published on July 4th, 2010 with the title A Proud American
