Junior League of San Francisco to Host Spring BBQ for Refugees and their Families
On Saturday, April 9th, The Junior League of San Francisco (JLSF) will host a community BBQ for Junior League volunteer family mentors, their refugee mentees and their families. The event will be held from 11am-3pm at Temescal Park in Oakland and will feature a picnic lunch, along with activities such as frisbee, croquet and catch. Volunteers will also lead fishing and hiking activities after lunch.
All IRC refugee families and IRC volunteers are welcome to join. The Junior League encourages everyone to bring their friends and family to join in the celebration. A map of Temescal Park can be found here.
Now in the fourth year of partnership, the IRC in San Francisco works with JLSF volunteers, who serve as mentors for refugee families, and in addition plan and organize community events in the Bay Area. This year, there are 35 members on the JLSF-IRC Committee which is led by Co-Chairs, Angella Goddard and Rose Jones. The IRC in San Francisco would like to thank the Junior League of San Francisco for this wonderful partnership and commitment.
