2010 Adopt-a-Family Project
It's that time of year again- Adopt-a-Family time!
The IRC Adopt-a-Family program matches community sponsors with refugee families resettled in 2010. Most of these families have lived under extremely difficult conditions prior to their arrival in the Puget Sound region. Many arrive in the US with little more than the clothes on their backs and hope for a better future. Through Adopt-a-Family you have an opportunity to bring joy to these new arrivals and help make a family feel welcomed into our community.
Each refugee household is matched with a donor who shops, wraps, and delivers gifts between December 11- 19th. Most family's wish lists consist of basic items such as winter clothing, socks, shoes and boots, school supplies and toys for the kids.
Make a difference in the lives of a refugee family this year. Please talk to your co-workers, friends, family members - anyone you think might be interested - to see if they would like to sponsor a family this year.
For further information, please email us at Seattle@theIRC.org and put Adopt-a-Family in the subject line or call 206-623-2105.
