Farewells and Hellos to our AmeriCorps VISTAs

April 2011 brings two hellos and a fond farewell to the IRC in Seattle .

This month we're welcoming two new AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers to our team: Adrienne Ramm and Max Biringer. Adrienne is a recent graduate from Western Washington University, where she studied sociology and business. Her work with the IRC will target several facets, including community outreach, assistance with volunteer recruitment, support and training, and resource development.

Max comes to the IRC from a previous VISTA position with Snohomish County. He's looking forward to his role as the new Educational Services VISTA, in which he'll lead our successful Job Class program, assist clients with school registration, and help with volunteer recruitment and training. Both Adrienne and Max will continue to grow our highly successful refugee mentoring program.

Adrienne and Max, a huge Hello and Welcome to the IRC in Seattle family!

And alas, we're saying a fond farewell to Leann Price, who completed her service this month as our Educational Services VISTA. Leann is an extraordinary example of what an individual can accomplish through the AmeriCorps VISTA program. Her vibrancy, thoroughness and constant positivity will be greatly missed by both the IRC in Seattle staff and clients.

Leann, we hope this isn't the last we see of you! Good luck and have a wonderful, well-deserved vacation!
