Fifth Annual Refugee Artvocacy!
On June 19th, 2010 the IRC in Seattle will hold Refugee Artvocacy, our fifth annual arts event in honor of World Refugee Day. The show provides area refugee and immigrant artists and performers an occasion to share their art and connect with the local community. Artvocacy also offers the public an opportunity to learn more about refugees and the many contributions and strengths they bring to our area.
This year's show includes works by artists from countries including Ethiopia, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Vietnam and Burma. Some of the artists arrived in the U.S. as refugees, some as immigrants and others are the children or grandchildren of refugees.
We hope that you will join us on June 19th, 2010 as we celebrate talented members of our community and honor World Refugee Day! Drinks and snacks will be provided by the IRC and our wonderful community supporters.
