Save the Date: ARTvocacy 2013
World Refugee Day is fast approaching, and for the 8th year running, the International Rescue Committee in Seattle is celebrating with ARTvocacy. ARTvocacy is an event designed to raise awareness of the refugees in our communities through an art show and a naturalization ceremony.
To commemorate this holiday, on June 20th at 6pm, a handful of refugees will be sworn in as American citizens. Following the ceremony, ARTvocacy attendees will have the opportunity to mingle with refugee artists and community members, nibble on delicacies donated by local businesses, and gaze at incredible refugee artwork.
ARTvocacy will be held at 610 2nd Avenue. To learn more about volunteering opportunities, or for more information about the event, email VolunteerSEA@Rescue.org or call 206.623.2105.
