May Volunteer Orientations
Every year IRC volunteers and interns contribute thousands of hours to help refugees in King County prepare for employment, apply for U.S. citizenship, make new friends, and ultimately become more involved in our community. Interested in joining our outstanding team of volunteers? The first step is to attend one of our volunteer orientations. Orientation provides an overview of the refugee process, the work of the IRC and the different ways you can get involved as a volunteer.
Orientations are held on the first Wednesday of every month and the following Friday. Please note that these sessions are the same and you are welcome to attend whichever session works best for you. No registration is required. Orientations generally last from 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the number of participants and questions. Our next orientation sessions will be:
Wednesday, May 7th at 6:00pm
Friday, May 9th at 1:00pm
Orientations are held at our Seattle office in the Westland Building at 100 South King St, Suite 570, Seattle, WA 98104 (NE corner of 1st and King). We are near Safeco and Century Link fields, so please be aware that traffic and parking can be challenging on event and game days. The doors to our building lock at 6:00pm, so please call the number posted if the doors are locked when you arrive and we will come down to let you in. If you anticipate you'll be 15 or more minutes late to an orientation, we request that you please attend another session.
If you have questions, please contact our office at 206-623-2105 or at VolunteerSEA@Rescue.org. Thanks for your interest in volunteering!
