Silver Spring Joins One Billion Rising

On February 14th at the Suburban Washington Resettlement Center, the International Rescue Committee, Lutheran Social Services, and Ethiopian Community Development Council joined the One Billion Rising campaign to end violence against women. The IRC in Silver Spring sees women's rights and violence against women not just as women's issues, but rather a humanitarian issues.  Together the staff stood, or rather danced, to bring hope and energy to a cause they strongly support. Enough is enough, it is time the "dog days are over!"
