Ken Briggs Promoted to Regional Director
Throughout the past five years of Ken Briggs’ tenure as executive director, the International Rescue Committee in Tucson has undergone significant transformations in its efforts to provide services to the hundreds of refugees who arrive in Tucson each year. From expanding its staff in order to meet the growing needs of the refugee community to supporting new, overwhelmingly effective and unique-to-Tucson programs such as the Center for Well-Being, Ken has ensured the Tucson office is leading the way in support of the IRC’s mission to provide opportunities for refugees to thrive in America.
It is with immense pride that we announce that Ken Briggs has been named Regional Director of the Pacific Region of the IRC, which includes the Los Angeles, Northern California, San Diego and Seattle offices. This position is based out of the IRC’s headquarter in New York City. While we are saddened that we will no longer be seeing Ken on a daily basis, we are deeply grateful for his leadership, support, and vision which has helped pave the way for thousands of refugees to rebuild their lives here in Tucson. Further, we are confident that our programs and services will continue to grow and refugees will continue to thrive thanks to the lasting effect Ken has had on our local office and the future impact he will have on the entire organization.
Aaron Grigg will serve as interim executive director of the IRC in Tucson.
