Refugee Women in Need of Knitting Supplies

Why knitting?

Every Friday morning, IRC Tucson offers a knitting group for refugee women to gather and socialize. According to Norma Mayer, a licensed clinical therapist with IRC, “knitting is a way of meditation and mindfulness practice that helps us to focus, relax and center on our breathing. Plus, it is an opportunity for refugees to make fun and beautiful things that they can later share.”

The IRC will be accepting donations of:

  • Wool yarn in any amount
  • Novelty yarn in any amount
  • Acrylic yarn in any amount
  • Knitting needles
  • Any other knitting supplies

You may drop off donations in our 3100 N. Campbell office on Mondays and Wednesdays, or on Thursdays by appointment.

IRC Tucson is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
