Thank you for caring!
On Sept. 22, nearly 60 volunteers from three local businesses, National Bank of Arizona, the Arizona Accounting Student Association and the Arizona Canning Company teamed up as part of the United Way’s Days of Caring to clean, landscape, paint and patch a local apartment complex which houses many of our refugee clients. The project benefited Mission Vista Apartments, where TMM family Services provides affordable, safe housing for 200 families, including many refugees sponsored by the IRC in Tucson.
Volunteers helped ensure the apartments and grounds were well prepared for new families through general landscaping, burying irrigation lines, and painting stairwells. Others patched holes, taped, spackle, laid vinyl tile, removed carpeting, and cleaned some of the apartment units for new residents.
A big thanks goes out to National Bank of Arizona, the Arizona Accounting Student Association and the Arizona Canning Company for their outstanding support, and to the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona for making this event possible!
