Welcome Immigration Volunteers!

The Suburban Washington Resettlement Center Immigration Team would like to introduce 15 new Immigration Community Volunteers to the Center. Representing six different countries, these volunteers have been recruited from the SWRC’s refugee and asylee community and bring a variety of skills and knowledge to the Immigration Team. With their training complete, they will be facilitating immigration workshops and orientations, disseminating immigration materials to the refugee and asylee communities, helping the immigration team develop new resources, and developing an immigration community resource guide. So far, they have contributed over 35 volunteer hours and have been able to attend and participate in a stakeholders meeting held by the United States Immigration and Citizenship Services (USCIS) in Baltimore. Please help us in welcoming this great group of volunteers to the SWRC. If you or someone you know are interested in the Immigration Community Volunteer Program, please feel free to contact Amy Sproul at amy.sproul@Rescue.org or call (301) 562-8633 ext.310 for more information!
