World Refugee Day - a day of art and appreciation!

On Saturday, June 19th, from 11a-3p the Suburban Washington Resettlement Center will celebrate the courage, inspiration and talent of refugees and asylees in the DC, Maryland and northern Virginia areas. Open to all friends, family and supporters, we are looking forward to a day of traditional performances, food, art and appreciation at the Create Arts Center in downtown Silver Spring. The Center is a great space for art and art therapy supporting children and teens in realizing their creative visions. 
This year’s World Refugee Day theme is home, and we are grateful to be able to help newly arrived families and individuals as they start their new lives here in the US, finding a safe place to call home.
