IRC New Roots Community Farm by YouTube video volunteer LisaNova
Millions of people around the world are uprooted from their homes by war and disaster. For those refugees who cannot return home, some have the chance to rebuild their lives in the United States. In the San Diego community, refugees from eight countries who have lost everything are working together to create something new. At the IRC New Roots Community Farm, refugees are embracing their human rights in even the simplest ways—in seeds and home-grown vegetables—as they build their lives in a new country. YouTube celebrity and video volunteer LisaNova recently visited the garden and created this video about the refugees' harvest for Thanksgiving.
