Where are the voices of women and girls in conflict zones? Where are their voices in decisions that affect their lives? These questions motivated the International Rescue Committee and writer/photographer Ann Jones to produce "A Global Crescendo: Womens Voices from Conflict Zones" in 2007 and 2008. Through photography, women and girls in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, Ivory Coast (Cote d'Ivoire), Sierra Leone and Thailand documented their lives and made their voices heard, both locally and globally.
