Rebuilding communities in Kyrgyzstan

Contributor Name:

In June of 2010, the International Rescue Committee launched an emergency response to deadly violence in Kyrgyzstan in the wake of clashes between ethnic Kyrgyz and Uzbeks which left hundreds dead in four days of looting and burning in the south of the country. Since autumn of 2010, the IRC has implemented dozens of small quick impact projects, and provided job training and individual grants to those in the most hard-hit communities- aimed both at rebuilding communities and infrastructure. The IRC's Ned Colt provides this video snapshot of our work there.
