Thank you so much to the LDS Plano 8th Ward for hosting an amazing Apartment Makeover last month! One of the volunteers, Dani, is an Interior Designer and she was able to turn the modest home of a Congolese refugee family into a gorgeous home. Apartment Makeovers are a great way to show your support for resettled refugees by turning their new home into a serene and beautiful place to call their own. Many times, refugee families have not had their own home for many years so this is a sure way to bond with them and share experiences.
After the new TV was set up for the family, the volunteers put it on KERA and explained to the children that Sesame Street was a good way to help them learn English on top of their ESL classes and schooling!
