IRC's goal is to change the narrative of refugees that is typically portrayed in media by having refugees tell their own stories on how they want to be seen, and showing the world their hopes, dreams, and values. For World Refugee Day, we want to celebrate with refugee families and welcome them into our community. We are so happy and grateful with the support of our New Roots team to host this event at one of New Roots' community gardens located in Tukwila, Washingotn. Bring your families, friends, and loved ones, and a celebratory attitude. Event details below:

Can't attend the event? Here are some other ways to welcome and support refugees in Washington:

Welcome newcomers

Welcome newcomers to our community by organizing an in-kind donation drive or passing on new or like-new items. Community members can form a group with their friends, families, loved ones, or with their broader community to organize around an in-kind donation or supply drive. In-kind donations supports refugee families and survivors of human trafficking as they are rebuilding their lives in the Seattle area.

You can help supply items for a new home by collecting items listed in the image below or purchase from our Amazon Wishlist.
