For this year’s International Day of the Girl—observed annually around the world on October 11—the IRC in Atlanta hosted an empowerment celebration to honor the young women in our Youth programs. With support from generous volunteers and donors, students enjoyed an action-packed day of activities, games, setting intentions and having fun with friends!
While our Clarkston High School students were off school for Fall Break, we gathered at the IRC in Atlanta office and shared a pot luck lunch, made colorful artwork and herbal salves, set goals for the future, and celebrated being ourselves!
This event was supported by Alternative Break volunteers from the University of South Carolina and generous make-up artists and hair stylists who donated their time for this event.
IRC staff are proud to work with these strong young women and are committed to ensuring that they are seen, heard and supported to achieve their full potential. Our Youth Futures students are the leaders of tomorrow!
