GiveBIG is an inspiring example of the power we have when we come together as a community. During this difficult time, please consider supporting a cause you care about, helping Washington non-profits to meet rising community needs, adjust their programs, and be there on the other side of this crisis.
This year, GiveBIG has been extended to two full days! Be a part of the biggest day of giving in our state on May 5th and 6th—or schedule your donation today—to support refugee families and survivors of human trafficking in our community.
Right now, many of the people we serve are hurting due to COVID-19. Refugee and immigrant families are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19’s effects on our community and many do not qualify for economic relief from the government. Our newest neighbors need our support more than ever—and you can help. Read more about our COVID-19 response efforts here.
Thank you to all community members participating in GiveBIG 2020 in support of local causes!
When is GiveBIG?
GiveBIG is two days this year: Tuesday, May 5th and Wednesday, May 6th from midnight to midnight PDT, but you can schedule your donation early beginning on April 15th.
How do I give?
There are two ways to participate:
- Donate through the IRC in Seattle’s profile on the GiveBIG website through midnight PDT on May 6th. Any donations scheduled early will be processed on the morning of May 5th.
- Start your own peer-to-peer fundraiser and encourage your friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors to donate!
Note: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress will allow all taxpayers to deduct $300 of qualified cash contributions to tax-exempt charities for 2020. This is an above-the-line deduction, meaning you don't have to itemize to claim the deduction.
