How to Volunteer in Denver, CO

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or intern for the IRC in Denver, there are several steps involved:

Volunteers

  1. Fill out a Volunteer/Intern Application
  2. Sign up to attend a new volunteer orientation HERE. At the hour long orientation, you will learn more about the IRC and available volunteer/intern positions. You will also receive additional information about setting up an interview, completing a background check and completing the volunteer/intern onboarding process  

Interns

  1. View current internship opportunities HERE
  2. Fill out a Volunteer/Intern Application
  3. E-mail IRCDenver.Volunteer [at] Rescue.org (subject: Intern%20Interview%20) to schedule an intern interview 

Important things to note:

  • The minimum commitment for IRC volunteer and intern positions ranges from four to six months
  • It typically takes at least two weeks to complete the application process (including the background check). Please plan ahead if you are volunteering for school credit and have scheduling requirements
  • Volunteers and interns must complete a background check and the IRC asks that you contribute $49 towards its cost
