And just like that, the time of year when we reflect on our values and invest in our communities is upon us. Our values bring purpose and meaning to our lives, and the investments we make in our communities to stand for those values empower us and connect us more deeply to one another.

What values are you standing for this season as you consider what is most important to you and your family? Are they the values of welcome, inclusivity, hospitality, and having a culturally rich community that sharpens us and makes our children and communities more globally-minded?

All of us here at the IRC in Denver hope that you will stand for these values alongside us and help us welcome our refugee and immigrant neighbors this season by supporting us during Colorado Gives Day. The IRC in Denver will be participating once again in Colorado’s largest day of annual giving, which will take place on December 10.

Colorado Gives Day is a statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. This year is the 10th anniversary of Colorado Gives Day. Each year Community First Foundation and FirstBank boost the value of every dollar raised through a $1 Million Incentive Fund—one of the largest gives-day incentives in the country.

By giving locally and joining our community of supporters, you’ll be standing by your refugee and immigrant neighbors during this critical time of uncertainty. We need Colorado’s proud spirit of hospitality and community to shine through so we can continue to welcome and support new neighbors who are an integral part of the fabric of our state—contributing to our economy and cultural vibrancy, and becoming our close friends, colleagues, and family members. You are an essential part of their journey, and we are so grateful for all of you.
