The IRC is thrilled to welcome JC Torres to our team as our new Development Manager. JC is charged with leading the fundraising initiatives for both the Tallahassee and Miami offices. Before joining the IRC, JC served as the Associate Director of Development for Conexion Americas, an organization dedicated to the development of the Latino community across Tennessee.
"We're thrilled to welcome JC to the IRC family,” said Development Director, Marian Dickson. “His presence—including his technical expertise, fresh perspective and deep relationships in South Florida—truly completes our team. JC is just what we need to strengthen and expand our donor community in Florida, thereby elevating our work and increasing our impact.”
Prior to working at Conexion Americas, JC served as the Director of Community Giving for TECHO US, a youth-led non-profit that works to overcome extreme poverty in Latin America. He was also the Executive Director of Ride for Reading, an organization that promotes literacy and healthy living among children in low-income communities. JC received a master’s degree in management from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Social Sciences, with a double minor in Criminal Justice and Sociology, from Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee.
JC grew up in Miami, Florida. He is originally from Bogotá, Colombia where much of his family still lives.
