There are many ways to get involved with the IRC's work in Elizabeth.
Employ a refugee:
- Refugees are survivors; they are resourceful, motivated, reliable and productive. Their determination to build a better future is an employer’s advantage. The IRC supports local employers to assess and screen candidates for entry-level through professional jobs. The IRC helps refugees secure an average of 250 job placements each year. Help us find affordable housing:
- We have received many offerings from community members to house newly arriving refugees in their homes. While we are deeply grateful, the IRC arranges for refugee families to rent their own apartments or houses as we feel it is a more sustainable solution that respects the inherent dignity of the people we serve. If you are a landlord or realtor in Elizabeth and interested in renting an apartment to newly arriving refugees, please contact Robert.Santiago [at] Rescue.org (subject: I%20want%20to%20hire%20Refugees!)
