There are many ways to get involved with the IRC's work in Wichita.
Invite friends over for a dinner party and trunk show, host a garage sale, make IRC the beneficiary of your 5K run or triathlon … the possibilities are endless. The IRC can help you set up your own fundraising plan where friends and relatives can donate to support your efforts. Contact Loren.Below [at] rescue.org (subject: Fundraising%20for%20Wichita)
Set up a donation drive.
Tell members of your running club, new mom’s or play group or church family about refugees; work together to do a donation drive. Ask us for information on what items will make the biggest differences in refugees’ lives. Contact Nayu.Wlson [at] Rescue.org (subject: Setting%20up%20a%20donation%20drive%20for%20Wichita) for more information.
Hire a refugee.
Do you own a small business or know someone that does? The IRC works hard to help our newest neighbors become employed and support their families. Refugees are authorized for employment the moment they step off the plan in the United States with no visa sponsorship required. Contact Kristen.Alhareedi [at] rescue.org (subject: Hiring%20a%20refugee%20in%20Wichita) for additional information.
Rent to a refugee.
Do you own a rental property or know someone who does? IRC needs partners that will rent properties to newly-arrived refugees in our community. Please contact Kristen.Alhareedi [at] rescue.org (subject: Renting%20to%20a%20refugee%20in%20Wichita) for additional information.
Support us through the Dillon’s Community Rewards Program.
To do so go to the website https://www.dillons.com/communityrewards and enter the code “79577” and Dillon’s will donate 5% of your purchase price back to the IRC in Wichita.
Name an IRC Classroom.
The IRC is offering naming rights to the current classroom and hopes to add a second classroom this fall to help meet the Adult Education needs of newcomers. Contact Loren.Belew [at] Rescue.org (subject: Naming%20an%20IRC%20classroom%20in%20Wichita) for additional information.
