There are many ways to support the IRC's work in San Jose.
Employ a refugee.
Refugees are eager to find work and integrate into their new community. The IRC’s employment services helps to prepare refugees for San Jose’s job market and secure employment locally. For any opportunities, please e-mail Elgiva.Wood [at] rescue.org.
Help us find affordable housing.
We have received many offerings from community members to house newly arriving refugees in their homes. While we are deeply grateful, the IRC arranges for refugee families to rent their own apartments as we feel it is a more sustainable solution that respects the inherent dignity of the people we serve. If you wish to provide free temporary housing to those in need, we encourage you to sign up for Airbnb's Open Homes, a valuable partner and resource to the IRC.
However, we welcome introductions to landlords who might be willing to partner with us to provide affordable, safe housing to arriving refugees. If you have a connection, please email Elgiva.Wood [at] rescue.org.
