Foster youth face unique barriers to becoming financially independent when transitioning out of foster care. Our Opportunity Passport program helps foster youth overcome these barriers through financial literacy courses and through matched savings programs. Now, you can help foster youth enrolled in Opportunity Passport through Birdies for Charity!

Opportunity Passport is a targeted program to better prepare foster youth to transition out of foster care and into financial independence. The financial literacy courses teach the basic skills necessary for financial independence, including how to manage money, budget, and set financial goals. After the courses, foster youth create savings accounts at a local bank or credit union. Savings can be matched $1 for $1 by the Opportunity Passport program, up to $3000 lifetime max, when purchasing approved assets like housing, transportation, or educational expenses.

If you pledge to Birdies for Charity, you’re making a donation for all the birdies made by PGA Tour professionals during the 2020 Waste Management Phoenix Open, which averages to 1,500 birdies over the course of the event. 1¢ per birdie = $15 donation. You can also make a flat donation.

Pledge today! Remember to select International Rescue Committee as your charity!
