Support Spice Kitchen entrepreneurs!

This summer, you will have plenty of opportunities to support refugee entrepreneurs who have started their own businesses and are striving to achieve their dreams with the help of our Spice Kitchen Incubator program. Entrepreneurs will be selling delectable treats and tasty entrees at a farmers market near you!

Wasatch Front Farmers Market at Gardner's Village

Chef Karine, originally from Armenia, tops her steaming baked potatoes with things like lox and cream cheese or fried eggplant cooked with traditional Georgian spices. She is also in the process of widening her menu to include breakfast options and desserts.

Ahtti Korean Munchies, started by two brothers from South Korea, specializes in Korean and Japanese cuisine. Their featured dishes include beef bulgogi, lava chicken, and kimbap.

Ashikat Kitchen

Chef Saadiyah’s pastries and entrees are influenced by both Iraqi and Jordanian cuisine where she grew up.

Chef Johndel was born in the Philippines but grew up in California and Utah. He has a passion for cooking and has spent time crafting his Filipino Hawaiian menu.

July 22nd through August 26th: Namash Swahili Cuisine

Chef Najati, a former refugee from Somalia, learned to cook at age 14 with her mother. She serves authentic Somali and Swahili family recipes and recommends trying the chapatti coconut beans and the tuna sambusa.

Every weekend in June, then every other weekend: Ahtti Korean Munchies

Chef Kaltum arrived in Utah from Sudan in 2013. She wants to share her culinary traditions with all of Utah; the recent purchase of her food truck will greatly help her with her dreams. Kaltum’s menus usually consist of sambusa, falafel, rice, chicken and vegetables.
