The International Rescue Committee in New Jersey is delighted to serve as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) site beginning this February! This tax season, IRC in NJ aims to help hundreds of households with this IRS certified service, primarily focusing on low-income immigrant households across New Jersey.
These services have provided vital through the pandemic, especially as household stimulus support has been often tied to tax records. This virtual service, augmented by drop-off options as needed, will aid low-income and immigrant households in accessing vital tax credits and supports in an effort to increase economic stability in these uncertain times.
For those in need of interpretation services, IRC will provide interpretation to ensure assistance. Further details can be found below, including which services are provided through VITA/TCE sites. All services will be offered with IRS certified volunteers. Services include preparing W-2s, New Jersey State Tax Refunds, Unemployment Benefits, Self-Employed Income, Education Credits and Child Tax Credits, among other options. There are services that cannot be prepared under VITA/TCE sites, so please refer to the flyer below for eligible services.
