We are excited to announce the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Salt Lake City will be undergoing office renovations from Monday, January 29th through Monday, April 9th!

Since 2012, close to 3,000 refugees have attended cultural orientations, health and financial literacy classes, and one-on-one employment meetings in our current office. The renovations will incorporate additional meeting spaces for things like practice job interviews, car buying classes or mental health screenings. Additionally, our newly renovated office will have a child playroom, larger classroom spaces, and expanded areas for staff and volunteers to collaborate and better support the nearly 2,000 new Americans we serve annually. 

During the renovation, the IRC office will be closed to the public, and IRC staff, interns, and volunteers will work off-site. However, we want to make sure we are still accessible to the community during these exciting changes.

Renovation FAQ:

Can community members and partners contact the IRC in Salt Lake City during renovations?

Yes! We will have a reception volunteer available from 10am to 3pm weekdays to take messages and direct phone calls. You can contact us at 801.328.1091. If we don’t answer the phone, please leave a brief message with your name, contact information, and the purpose of your call. The appropriate staff member will return your call as soon as possible.

All questions or inquiries can also be directed by email to SaltLakeCity [at] Rescue.org. Emails will receive a prompt response.

How can I stay updated on what’s happening at the IRC in Salt Lake City during renovations?

Can I drop off donations during the renovations?

If you have collected in-kind donations, please contact us at DonateSLC [at] Rescue.org to RSVP for a donation drop off. We will not be able to accept in-kind donations directly to our office, so other arrangements will be made to accept donations. However, if you can plan your in-kind donation drive to end after April 2nd that would be preferable.

Can I provide a financial contribution to support the renovations?

Yes! With newly expanded office spaces, we will have spaces—like our child playroom—that will need to be furnished. Monetary and in-kind contributions will be accepted to help furnish the new spaces in our office. Please email us at DonateSLC [at] Rescue.org to learn more.

Can I apply to be a volunteer during renovations?

Yes! We will be accepting volunteer applications and conducting our monthly Volunteer Information Session during this time. Can I volunteer to help you move back into your newly-renovated office space?
