Help refugee, immigrant and low-income Utahns share their amazing food with the community! Shifts are Thursdays 3:30-6:30pm for volunteers 14 or older.

Ibrahim pursued ambitious goals after arriving in the U.S. from Sudan in 2012: from completing high school to becoming a U.S. Citizen, Ibrahim is living his American Dream.

Yousef grew up farming in Darfur. After he and his family were resettled in Salt Lake City, they began farming with New Roots, a program of the IRC in Salt Lake City.

The IRC in Salt Lake City is currently running a series, “Refugee Resettlement”, describing our efforts to resettle and serve refugees and their families who now call the Beehive State “home.” Part three, the final in the series, focuses on the programs and services offered to support refugees’ and New Americans’ efforts to positively integrate beyond resettlement.

The Refugee Resettlement Committee at the First Unitarian Church of Salt Lake City goes above and beyond to ensure that newly arrived refugees resettled by the IRC in Salt Lake City feel welcome and comfortable in their new home.

In September, Jenny Hart, the IRC in Salt Lake City’s maternal & child health coordinator, attended an international Gender Equality Champion Conference for IRC staff hosted in Nairobi, Kenya.

The digital inclusion program at the IRC in Salt Lake City offers refugees the opportunity to learn how to use technology to their advantage while providing access to the Internet and devices.

In May, Elie, his wife Delphine, and four children arrived in Salt Lake City from a Kenyan refugee camp. Elie hopes for a better future for his children in Utah as he works hard to achieve his family's dreams.
