Supporter Spotlight: Kathy, Family Reunification Volunteer

Kathy has dedicated nearly five years making refugees welcome in Washington. Twice a week, she can be found volunteering at the IRC to help community members reunite with their loved ones. Her advice for anyone thinking about volunteering: “Do it! And when you do, be a sponge. We can never know what’s waiting for us to learn, or the impact we’ll have on someone’s life, until we try.”

2nd Annual Advocacy Day a big success!

Despite uncooperative weather conditions, nearly 200 advocates from across the state convened in Olympia for WAISN's 2nd Annual Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Day on February 5th! Participants met with 97 legislators, advocating for state policies that support refugee and immigrant rights.

New Roots Food Drive

Help families who are planting 'new roots' in our community by donating items for the IRC's emergency food pantry. This in-office food pantry helps relieve stress and provide food essentials to people experiencing crisis or life transitions.
