Meet our direct service staff!

The IRC’s Direct Service Team works closely with clients when they arrive in Wichita and provide clients with case management, extended case management and employment services. We wanted to give you a chance to meet our team and learn a little more about them.

Cooking demonstration classes to benefit IRC!

February 22, 2019

IRC's cooking demonstrations will be led by a former IRC client who will walk guests through preparing a meal using a recipe from his home country. Proceeds from the event will benefit the IRC Wichita.

IRC Wichita's Starbucks Giving Wreath Campaign

Now through December 28th community members in may visit the IRC's Giving Wreaths at any Wichita Starbucks location to pick out a gift tag with a suggested gift for an IRC client. Gifts may be returned to any Starbucks location and will be given to a refugee upon their arrival or may be given to a client in need.

How a dedicated volunteer became the missing link

Wizie Eads was linked as a mentor with the Safi family in April 2018 after helping as an Urdu translator for a cultural orientation class. That spring, Wizie and her husband Darwin were spending time with the family when they learned that one member, Safi was walking 4 miles a day, back and forth, to take one of his eight children to elementary school.

Goddard Eisenhower High School students host in-kind donation drive for the IRC

In September Students from Goddard Eisenhower High School began collecting hygiene supplies and household cleaning supplies for the IRC and will continue collecting these supplies throughout their school year.
