Your group can help refugees rebuild their lives and gain control over their futures through the IRC’s Housing Outreach Mentorship & Education (HOME) program, which combines direct financial assistance, help with necessary services and enrollment, along with beneficial mentorship to assist newly-arrived refugee families to become self-sufficient and adjusted quickly.

The International Rescue Committee in Salt Lake City is excited to launch Co-Sponsor Group Support to welcome an increased number of refugee families to Utah. Co-Sponsor Groups are matched with a newly arrived refugee families to provide a breadth of resources and support to help families rebuild their lives in a new city.

The IRC in Kansas will soon launch community sponsorship and co-sponsorship opportunities as a new way for local community groups, religious institutions, and others to get involved and welcome refugees to Kansas.

On March 19, the IRC in Atlanta held its first ever high school graduation for 13 hard-working students in our Connect 2 Success (C2S) program—one of the only programs in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to supporting out-of-school refugee youth ages 16 to 24 to pursue their education and career goals.

Community Sponsorship offers an exciting opportunity for a group of community members to support resettlement efforts and to engage in deeply impactful work with one of our family cases. Following the higher volume of arrivals experienced recently and an increase in community attention toward assisting refugees, the IRC in Oakland is seeking volunteer groups who are interested in becoming Co-Sponsors.
