NJ Staff spotlight: From Client to Caseworker

An on-call volunteer position supporting newly arrived clients to meet their basic needs. Resettlement Support volunteers can sign up for tasks such as delivering items to client home, transporting clients to appointments or to purchase food and clothing, setting up temporary housing, or creating welcome boxes.

Price Real Estate donated a warehouse space in Draper for a year of use to the IRC in Salt Lake City, expanding operational efforts during an emergency response supporting Afghan evacuees arriving to Utah.

The IRC in Salt Lake City’s Economic Wellbeing team celebrates the Shapoor family’s first home! Through matched assistance programs, the IRC actively works to combat an evolving housing market through community partnership, education tailored to refugees and other immigrants, and access to financial support for eligible community members.

We are now accepting applications for summer internships! Applications are due by 5pm ET on Monday, March 21, 2022. Internships run from May 20 - August 12, 2022.

CEO has partnered with the Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC) on a new national service program to provide financial literacy, financial planning, budgeting, saving, and other financial counseling education to clients — all with an eye toward addressing persistent poverty and helping families build a stronger future. CEO and IRC are recruiting 13 full-time Economic Mobility Corps (EMC) AmeriCorps members to serve as Financial Coaches co-located with IRC offices and integrated into local asset-building programs.

This is an AmeriCorps position sponsored by the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, with the term lasting 1 year.

The New Roots Volunteers work with refugee clients from differing backgrounds and skills to support them in their gardening journey. It is an opportunity for our newest neighbors to grow food to feed their families and reconnect with their cultural heritage and new communities.
