Refugees are done waiting

War and persecution are increasingly affecting families all over the world, yet the U.S. is admitting the lowest number of refugees in the history of our refugee resettlement program.

Refugees can no longer wait for resettlement – they need it now.

Tell Congress we are still ready to welcome refugees:

It's time to welcome refugees again

When conditions in countries are simply too unstable to return to, resettlement is the lifesaving, and permanent, option for some of the world’s most vulnerable refugees. Traditionally, the U.S. has been the beacon of hope for those uprooted by war, persecution and political upheaval. However, since January 2017, the U.S. has pulled back the welcome mat for refugees. We only have until September 30 to make a difference.

Reducing the resettlement numbers is just one part of a slow and silent strangulation of a lifesaving program for so many. With millions requiring the safety, security, and protection that only resettlement can provide, it is not the time for the U.S. to turn its back on refugees. If we don't admit at least 75,000 refugees in the coming year, thousands will be left without their final hope for a safe existence.
