Menstrual hygiene management (MHM) in emergencies toolkit

The MHM in Emergencies project is a collaboration between Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and the International Rescue Committee, and supported by Research for Health in Humanitarian Crises. The aim of this project is to expand the evidence and guidance on MHM during emergencies. Along with adding to the evidence base, the project has developed an MHM in emergencies toolkit in partnership with the humanitarian response community.

RFP - IRC - Technology partner for educational messaging platform (Audio Class)

We wish to engage with Providers who can:

• Create an end to end solution - leveraging another platform such as Twilio, Dialogflow, or RapidPro if necessary

• Provide these features through any technology stack to facilitate automation of interactive educational messaging via WhatsApp, (and ideally also through Facebook Messenger, or Telegram) to students, and create an easy to use dashboard for teachers to create content and track their students.

• Assist with the set-up of a WhatsApp Business API for the program in Colombia including; o provide flow guidance and opportunities o automate communication flows based on curriculum content provided o train IRC staff and teachers on using the dashboard o collect data from participants during implementation o provide ongoing technical support.

The Vision Project

Each year, tens of thousands of refugees fleeing violence and persecution resettle in the United States, including the Bay Area. Resettlement means a fresh start and opportunity, especially for adolescent girls whose futures had been limited by a lack of access to education and opportunities and restrictive ideas about  women. Here. these girls have the chance to improve themselves, their families, and their communities. The Vision Project aims to empower refugee girls and change perceptions within their communities by providing girls with the skills and support they need to envision a positive future, and ultimately achieve their goals. The project runs three week-long workshops each year with resettled refugee girls, and each week culminates in a personal photoshoot for each girl where they embody their future selves.
