RFI - Local Content Creators - children in literacy & numeracy - Bangladesh

We are looking for local content creators to help create a highly contextualized, comprehensive, adaptive course for children in literacy and numeracy. The local technology partner should have a solid understanding of foundational literacy and numeracy curriculum and local context of the host communities in Cox’s Bazar and the coastal belt of Bangladesh to spearhead the content creation that is aligned with the learning needs of the community, accommodate low-literacy users, and is linguistically appropriate and culturally relevant.

Our vision is to work closely with the local content creation partner(s) to develop and execute an optimized model in our next phase in Cox’s Bazar. Based on a successful execution in Cox’s Bazar, we hope to continue working with the local technology partner(s) as we scale-up the program.

The IRC in Miami: Unaccompanied children in South Florida.

The IRC opened its locally-funded office in Miami in 1960 in response to the Cuban Revolution and, over the decades, has served over 25,000 refugees, asylees, survivors of human trafficking and other vulnerable populations in South Florida. Due to nationally reduced refugee admissions, the IRC ended its refugee resettlement program in Miami in 2018. Although its resettlement program concluded in 2018, the IRC in Miami continues to serve the community by providing holistic, trauma-informed services to survivors of human trafficking and unaccompanied children and their families.

Unaccompanied Children Intern

The IRC in New York provides services to unaccompanied minors as part of a national response to the large influx of youth entering the United States without legal guardians. The Unaccompanied Children Intern will support the Unaccompanied Children Caseworker to complete home studies on potential sponsors and assist minors in obtaining educational, health, and legal services once they are placed with a sponsor. The intern’s primary responsibility will be helping clients to obtain legal assistance, enrollment in school, and health insurance and to conduct research on possible resources available to the children and their sponsors within the 5 boroughs of NYC. The Unaccompanied Children Intern will work within the Resettlement Department at the IRC in NY resettlement office and report to the Unaccompanied Children Caseworker.
