The IRC in Salt Lake City offers a variety of services available to asylees and asylum-seekers free of charge, including employment assistance, tax filing support, immigration consultations and much more.

Over the past year, the Utah Immigration Collaborative, an initiative facilitated by a network of five immigration legal service providers in Salt Lake City, created a streamlined system for connecting individuals seeking immigration legal assistance to service providers. The Collaborative responds to growing need within immigrant communities in Utah by providing affordable legal representation, assistance and support.

Since late September, the IRC in Salt Lake City has welcomed more than 190 Afghan refugees to Utah, With support from community partners like the Utah Muslim Civic League, the IRC is there to help families rebuild their lives in our community.

In the IRC’s new women’s economic empowerment program, low-income immigrant women learn to manage their families’ resources and navigate the American financial system.
