Right now, more than ever, it feels as if everyone in the world could use a hug from their mother, grandmother, or someone else who feels like a mother to them. This Mother’s Day we got the chance to celebrate these women who mean so much to us all, including the many refugee mothers who inspire us daily.

#HelloooAmerica is a low-pressure space where young refugees can access the information they need to lead safe and healthy lives, in a way that affirms their family, culture and futures. This new miniseries is made for and by refugee youth in partnership with the IRC in Atlanta, Advocates for Youth, Parallel World Labs and women-owned Atlanta production studio, Xerophile.

The IRC in Atlanta’s Health and Wellness team is thrilled to introduce three new staff members to support the replication of the Health Improvement Project (HIP Teens), a pregnancy prevention program that has proven effective through rigorous evaluation.
