A new IRC report brings forward the voices of 852 refugee and displaced women living in some of the most underfunded and forgotten humanitarian crises in 15 African countries to learn how the pandemic and the humanitarian response to it has affected their safety.

With the support of the David & Lucile Packard Foundation, the IRC piloted a new approach to increase access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) care for adolescents in Goma, DRC. This report highlights the strategy developed to address foundational facility and community-level barriers that prevent adolescents from accessing and receiving quality SRH services. 

The CRC came into existence in 1989. Despite the global support for this convention to be ratified, children’s’ protection and other rights are far from a reality for millions of children around the world.

The International Rescue Committee carried out an assessment of adolescent girls (ages 10-18 and both in and out of school within the camps) across 5 Rakhine IDP camps and Rohingya camps in Myanmar in late August. We've had increased reports of gender-based violence since the Rohingya were enclosed in camps in 2012.

Nearly 4 years of war in Yemen has led to the largest humanitarian crisis in the world. The war has had a unique impact on women and girls, exacerbating pre-existing vulnerabilities and inequalities rooted in patriarchal structures and norms.
