The New Roots Program of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Tucson empowers refugees and other community members to grow their own food for their families and for the market. Many refugees have agrarian backgrounds, and the program allows them to employ their skills for the economic advancement of themselves and their families. 

Each year the IRC in Dallas has been holding a Robing Ceremony the night before graduation to honor fifteen high school graduates who started their journey in the US as refugees. Read about our excellent 2021 graduates!

The team in Denver is working hard to adjust services to be delivered remotely to refugees and immigrants.

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is now offering live, online weekly classes available nationwide on a variety of topics focused on providing remote support to refugees and other immigrants during the pandemic and economic crisis. Each year over half of the refugees resettled by the IRC in San Diego are children; in 2016 56% of new arrivals were under 18 years old. Having reached the US, their futures are brighter than the uncertainty, conflict and violence they left behind but as they enter the American education system, refugee youth face a unique set of barriers to academic success.

The IRC's Immigration Department can help any immigrant population to petition to bring family members to the U.S., apply for citizenship, green cards, work authorization, travel documents, and more.
