Since the onset of the Syria conflict in March 2011, civilians have borne the brunt of the violence and health facilities have been targeted as a strategy of war.
The IRC in New Jersey’s first cohort of Hospitality Link graduated in April 2018. A total of 18 students from a wide variety of backgrounds attended intensive hospitality training daily for two weeks.
Through the Hospitality Link job training program, participants learn widely usable soft skills, explore career paths in hospitality and visit hospitality workers in action. The International Rescue Committee in Silver Spring is one of five IRC offices piloting the program.
In partnership with Salt Lake Community College and with generous support from Marriott International, the IRC in Salt Lake City provides training to refugees who are seeking to gain skills needed to enter a career in the hospitality sector.
