This summer, the IRC in Tallahassee launched a new, volunteer-led Refugee Literacy program to help middle- and high-school refugee students from the Democratic Republic of Congo to learn English through homework help, socializing and community integration. Volunteers work with students in their homes and become a regular fixture in their lives, providing mentorship and support as they become better orientated into the Tallahassee community.

Our impact: From supporting refugee youth in their next step of their academic careers to continuing to provide life-changing case management support to asylum-seeking families, the IRC in San Diego is pleased to share a brief look into what we have accomplished this Spring.

The Immigrant Welcoming Task Force at First Congregational Church in Bellevue spent the month of February gathering pantry staples, seasonings, spices, and condiments to stock the IRC in Seattle's emergency food pantry.

Thanks to the help of donors, the IRC in Los Angeles was able to deliver gifts and much needed items to over 50 refugees and asylum seeking families this holiday season!
