Five years ago, Maria was a 26-year-old single mother of two living in Honduras. After fleeing for life and being granted asylum in the U.S., Maria received assistance from the IRC in Baltimore and was able to reunite with her two sons this year.

Borka Paponjak, the IRC in Seattle's resettlement and immigration program manager, recently celebrated 20 years of service with the IRC! During these years, she has welcomed and assisted thousands of refugees in the Seattle area.

During the winter 2016 semester, Joseph Mears worked an intern in Silver Spring with the Intensive Case Management Program. He looks back on his internship and a successful donation drive that helped those most in need.
