To date, the IRC in Atlanta’s Health and Wellness and Youth teams have implemented three replications of the Health Improvement Project for Teens (HIPTeens), a theoretically driven sexual risk reduction intervention for adolescent girls that enhances knowledge, increases motivation, and teaches behavioral skills needed to reduce pregnancy, HIV and STI risk.

Economic wellbeing means people have their most basic survival needs met and have sustainable income and assets so they can prosper. During and after crises, people may be forced to make short-term decisions to survive—such as pulling children out of school to work—that will have long-term negative consequences. The International Rescue Committee helps them meet immediate needs and build a brighter future.

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) and its partners implemented a large-scale community-driven reconstruction (CDR) program called Tuungane (“Let’s unite” in the local Kiswahili language) from 2007 to 2016.
