The Youth Program department developed and facilitated an After School Activity Series for children 6 to 13 years-old.

On March 19, the IRC in Atlanta held its first ever high school graduation for 13 hard-working students in our Connect 2 Success (C2S) program—one of the only programs in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to supporting out-of-school refugee youth ages 16 to 24 to pursue their education and career goals.

The IRC in Atlanta’s Connect to Success program provides holistic support to refugee youth and young adults aged 16 to 24 who are not enrolled in school to help them to reach their education and career goals. Since the program’s launch in fall 2016, our partnership with the Earle C. Clements Job Corps Center in Morganfield, Kentucky has been invaluable in helping our students to overcome barriers and fulfill their potential.

With the help of partner nonprofits—Decatur Makers and House of SpeakEasy—students attending the IRC in Atlanta’s “Ready, Set, College!” summer camp were able to build a “Little Free Library” for the Clarkston High School New Roots Garden.
