The IRC has released results of a new survey after interviewing more than 800 Syrian refugee families, uncovering the reasons why refugees are embarking on the perilous journey to Europe.

This paper aims to give a voice to some of the women, girls, boys and men displaced by violence, give credit to their generous hosts, and create recommendations to UN agencies, the international donor community, and the governments of Cameroon, Chad, Niger, and Nigeria

Our analysis shows that millions of ‘people caught in crisis’ - people living in conflict, and/or who are displaced within their own countries or across borders – are in fact being left behind. Failure to take action now means that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will not be met, undermining the credibility of the international community and leaving millions to die unnecessarily.
