Summer Learning in the Time of COVID

Although the end of the school year didn't go exactly as planned, the IRC in Atlanta’s Youth Futures and Connect to Success programs still had lots to celebrate. 46 IRC students graduated from high school in the Class of 2020—collectively earning 69 college acceptances so far!

This spring, newcomer youth came together to share stories and artwork during IRC's mid-winter break camp.

The Youth Food Justice program with the International Rescue Committee in Dallas provided eight teens the chance to explore creativity and job readiness skills through food and agriculture.

Meet Rachel Dyussengaliyev. With years of youth development experience overseas, Rachel returns to the states to lead IRC Dallas youth programs.

“When I was in Ethiopia, I couldn’t imagine a future for myself. Then we came here." Each year, the IRC in San Diego awards scholarships like Abdulfatah to refugee youth entering their first year of college or university.

The IRC in San Diego partnered with Fox Sports San Diego to provide over 50 refugee youth with a career exploration opportunity, studio tour and a chance to experience their first-ever baseball game.
